Beef Cows

We know where our food comes from!

We are just beginning our journey of raising a small beef herd. This herd will not only provide delicious meat that we know exactly where it came from and how the animal lived its life, but the breed we have chosen, the British White, is very docile and beautiful.

As of March of 2024, we have one young heifer, Nellie, who is a British White and Angus cross. She will be bred to a British White bull this summer and we will expect a calf in the spring of 2025.

In the meantime, our milk cow, Cocoa, was bred to an Angus bull for her last calf. He was born on November 24, 2023, and will be ready for processing  by the summer of  2025.

In the fall of 2023, our first homegrown steer was processed. We received half of the meat (we shared the other half with a friend) and he yielded over 600 pounds of beef. It was a very satisfying feeling to know exactly how that steer was raised and what he ate his entire life and then be able to provide meals for our families.

Stay tuned - as our herd grows, we will be able to offer homegrown beef to you!
